Looking back on Years of Golf Excellence

This premier Nova Scotia golf course was named Best New Course by Golf Digest in 2001 – the first full year it was open and with good reason. The scenery is something to behold, the design of Fox Harb’r provides two completely different styles for ultimate variety and the course itself will test every club in your bag. Meet the renowned golf course architect that has made this possible and golf legends that have walked the fairways of Fox Harb’r.

Renowned course architect Graham Cooke’s style is to carefully blend natural beauty with a challenging layout that rewards players of varying abilities. His deep respect for the environment and its ecosystems is reflected in the natural beauty that is a trademark of his work.

The Vision

The vision that Graham had for Fox Harb’r has created a seamless, unique course, accented by breathtaking seaside holes hugging the steep rocky shores. Sheltered fairways nest amid tall spruce and deep inland waterways. This course is destined to redefine your golf dreams.

Graham Cooke leads one of Canada’s top-ranked golf course architectural firms, Graham Cooke & Associates (GCA). Together, Graham Cooke and his team of qualified professionals have produced some of the world’s most innovative and memorable golf courses – including our very own Championship Golf Course.

Graham has competed at the highest levels of amateur golf for over thirty years. While attending Michigan State University on a full scholarship, Graham was a member of the golf team that own the Big Ten Golf Championship. Individually, Graham won a number of N.C.A.A. championships, earning him an Honorable Mention in 1991. Additionally, he has participated on seven national teams for Canada, three of which were World Amateur teams. In North America, Graham has won over forty tournaments and in Quebec, Graham has represented the province on a record twenty-four Willington Cup teams.

GOLF LEGENDS – Fox Harb’r is designed for celebrity status.

Vacationers, executives, and corporate groups alike flock to this seaside retreat for a couple of days of R&R and to sharpen their skills on Graham Cooke’s beauties, and they aren’t the only ones. Fox Harb’r’s fairways have also been challenged by the likes of Bill Clinton, Bobby Orr and the world’s number-one golfer, Tiger Woods.

The 2009 Nike Golf Invitational allowed golf aficionados a one-of-a-kind opportunity to spend the day with one of the world’s greatest athletes. With a limited media and guest list the affair was truly an up close and personal experience in a relaxed and very intimate setting. The event featured a nine-hole exhibition match between Tiger Woods, Charles Barkley and celebrity golf swing coach Hank Haney. “I’ve never been to this part of Canada before and it’s beautiful,” Tiger Wood commented. “The event was great and it was really fun to play with my friends Hank and Charles; we don’t get a chance to play with each other very often. I’m also thankful that we were able to raise a lot of money for my foundation and for Canadian junior golf.”
