Bruce Guthro Songwriters’ Circle at Fox Harb’r

Featuring Myles Goodwyn, Matt Minglewood and Charlie A’Court
Friday, September 14, 2018 | Gourmet BBQ and Concert

This September, beloved Nova Scotia musician, storyteller and modern-day troubador Bruce Guthro returns to Fox Harb’r Resort with a very special Songwriters’ Circle concert line-up of friends Myles Goodwyn, Matt Minglewood and Charlie A’Court.

Guthro says these intimate, sell-out Songwriters’ Circle shows are about revealing the mystery behind the process of writing songs and making music.

“As part of the Songwriters’ Circle audience, you get to sit like somebody in the living room of four artists.  It’s your chance to listen in as we talk about songwriting and where the songs, and stories, come from,” explains Guthro.

Live music from Canadian legends and a BBQ feast

And before this epic jam session, Fox Harb’r Resort Executive Chef Shane Robilliard will be starting everyone’s Friday night off right with an East Coast Meets West Coast BBQ feast. So, join us for an unforgettable evening of food, music, stories and laughter. Don’t miss the 2018 Fox Harb’r Songwriters’ Circle with Bruce Gurthro and friends.

April Wine’s Founder Myles Goodwyn
Singer, guitarist, writer producer and leader of April Wine, Myles Goodwyn’s passion and drive shaped and directed the group from its earliest beginnings. He is the only remaining original member since the inception of April Wine in 1969. Myles’ unique but classic rock voice gives April Wine a distinct and immediately recognizable sound. He has penned virtually every one of the band’s songs while leading the group from its modest garage roots to multi-platinum sales and true Canadian classic status, while also pursuing a solo career.

Legendary Rock and Blues Performer Matt Minglewood
With a professional career that spans over 55 years and the energy of musicians half his age, Matt Minglewood has played for the troops in Afghanistan, recorded at Jimi Hendrix Electric Lady studios and accumulated gold records and awards. He’s had major hits like “Can’t You See,” and just released his latest album in 2017. Through it all, Matt’s music and song writing have showcased the natural universality one only heard from a born storyteller. In a climate ripe with ever-changing musical styles, he has mastered many, blending country, blues, folk, roots and rock, while always remaining true to his own artistic character.

Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist Charlie A’Court
Planted at the crossroads of roots and soul, Charlie A’Court’s mighty voice, fierce guitar work and contemporary songwriting have earned him an international following and a host of awards and accolades. The most recent of Charlie’s five solo albums, “Come On Over,” won for 2015 Blues Recording of the Year at both the East Coast Music Awards and Music Nova Scotia Awards. Born with the gift of voice, Charlie grew up in rural Nova Scotia where he spent his youth learning to play guitar and immersing himself in his father’s vinyl record collection, discovering singers like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. Over the years, his musical influences have grown to include Eric Clapton and contemporary artists Jonny Lang, Colin James, John Mayer, and Joe Bonamassa.
